VHAC at the Wellbeing of Woman (WOW) Show at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. 15 September 2007.
Another 'first' for VHAC when Fabia and committee member, Marilyn Gould held a stand at the WOW Show.
The Show was opened by Mrs Sarah Brown, wife of UK Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. Mrs Brown met with those taking part including Fabia and Marilyn. It was a very great pleasure to meet Mrs Brown and to know that she is taking an involved interest in women's health by becoming a Patron to WOW.
The Show lived up to it's claim to be 'serious fun' in aiming to offer women information on a variety of health conditions affecting the reproductive system. The health issues may have been serious but the delegates and the women who came to obtain information all enjoyed the relaxed informal atmosphere. Talks by medical professionals were interspersed with information stands and holistic treatments were available. Belly dancing was featured as a healthy way to exercise and Ruby Angel displayed specialised underwear for women with breast cancer.
Grateful thanks goes to Sir Victor Blank for agreeing to be pictured with the VHAC vulva self-examination leaflet. The men at the show were asked to take a leaflet for their wives, partners and female relatives.
Thank you Wellbeing of Woman for a totally teriffic day!
